From the Dames, April 29th, 2020
Good Evening folks!
We are coming down to the wire on our applications. We know that considering everything going on, applying for a festival may be the last thing on your mind. Or worse, it is something that is filled with worry instead of a nervous anticipation. We get that. We are IMMENSELY grateful to every application we have received thus far. We've gotten some messages asking us about our plans. Will we stay, will we move, will we cancel for 2020? In short, we don't know right now. We are in communication with the theater, and we will update as soon as we know. NC is very optimistic about the reopen plans, but that can turn around very quickly. We as a troupe have made a few decisions regarding applications and acceptances.
1. Applications have been extended until MAY 31ST, 2020. We hope that extending this deadline past most reopen dates will help everyone get a better idea of their summer.
2. From today, April 29 to May 7th, we are instituting a pay-what-you-can week. Times are hard right now, and we want to give everyone the chance to be a part of DDBF. Details will be on the application website.
3. We will be offering a "pay at the door" option. If accepted, you can pay your application fee upon arrival.
4. In the event that we have to move the date, and you cannot be a part of the 2020 festival, your acceptance will be honored in 2021. If we have to cancel and you cannot be a part of 2021, your acceptance will be honored in 2022. It is hard to think about plans that far away right now, but we are people of our word, and we will honor your acceptance.
If you have any questions, feel free to message us here, or through our website. Old friends, and friends we haven't met yet, we honor and cherish you. We hope to see many of your shining faces on the other side of this. Stay healthy, safe, and sane.
